Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe has been wooing film director Michael Corrente ("American Buffalo") for the part of notorious American mayor Buddy Cianci in the screen adaptation of novel "The Prince of Providence" reports The Daily Telegraph.
Corrente says he has been in "constant contact" with Crowe, meeting him in New York before being invited to visit his Woolloomooloo den earlier this month. "When you're dealing with a star of this magnitude, he brings in a lot of his own ideas," Corrente said.
'Prince' chronicles Cianci's ascension to power and ultimate indictment on several criminal charges including racketeering, conspiracy and extortion.
