Will Eisner's "The Spirit", one of the most influential comics of all time which debuted in 1940, is coming to the big screen reports the trades.
The story follows a masked detective who is believed to be dead. Using a mausoleum as his home base, Eisner's character fights crime in the dark shadows of Central City, using cunning and ingenious forms of punishment.
The movie will be adapted and directed by "Sin City" creator Frank Miller, who will be on hand for the public announcement of the project Saturday at Comic-Con International in San Diego. Odd Lot Entertainment and Batfilm Productions will produce.
