In December of 2004 it was revealed that Al Pacino would likely star in a remake of Billy Wilder's 1957 classic "Witness for the Prosecution". Now, a sourceComing Soon says that Michael Bradford will direct and Nicole Kidman may join Pacino in the project.
Earlier reports had helmer Robert Benton attached to direct the film, which is based on the Agatha Christie play that has been adapted twice before. The story followsa master criminal barrister who takes the case of a man on trial for murder. While he expects that the defendant's wife will stand up for him in court, she unexpectedly agrees to appear for the prosecution in a trial while multiple twists and turns occur that test the lawyer's skill to the limit.
