Warner Bros. Pictures and Thunder Road habr picked up the rights to David Klass' young-adult novel "Firestorm", the first in the planned 'Caretaker Trilogy'. The studio has also optioned the remaining two books reports Empire Online.
"Firestorm" revolves around a seemingly normal high school senior who finds himself at the center of an epic battle that's being fought both now and a thousand years in the future. The fate of Earth hangs in the balance.
The books have a definite environmental theme, and "Firewall" is the first novel to be endorsed by Greenpeace. The second "Whirlwind" will focus on rainforests, while "Timelock" will address global warming. Klass has penned more than thiry screenplays including "Kiss the Girls" and the "Walking Tall" remake.
