Universal has landed the rights to the Boom Studios comic book "Talent" after a major bidding war involving five studios including DreamWorks and Warner Bros. Pictures reports the trades.

Written by Christopher Golden and novelist Tom Sniegoski and drawn by Paul Azaceta, the four-issue miniseries follows a 34-year-old college professor, the sole survivor of a plane wreck who slowly discovers he's inherited the abilities of the passengers who've died.

He then has to put his new talents to use as he finds himself chased down by members of a shadowy conspiracy.
