Warners Whips The Thieves of Baghdad

Valhalla Motion Pictures and Legendary Pictures have obtained feature rights to Matthew Bogdanos' "Thieves of Baghdad" and plans to produce a feature film adaptation for Warner Bros. Pictures reports Variety.

The book is a first-person account of Bogdanos' criminal investigation into stolen antiquities from the Iraq National Museum. In the midst of the war he set out to recover priceless artifacts after gaining the trust and cooperation of Iraqi civilians. Bogdanos and his team recovered a large number of the pieces looted from the museum without a single casualty.

Gale Anne Hurd will produce the film which will like cover other elements of Bogdanos life. The Manhattan assistant district attorney earned a Bronze Star for his leadership role in counterterrorist operations and has served two tours in Iraq.
