Forest Whitaker has signed on to co-star in the Pete Travis-helmed thriller "Vantage Point" for Columbia Pictures, joining Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox and William Hurt says The Hollywood Reporter.
Penned by Barry Levy, the story chronicles an attempt to assassinate the U.S. president in Madrid and is told from five points of view, unfolding in 15-minute increments. Whitaker will play an American tourist who captures video footage of the would-be assassin.
Whitaker has generated Emmy buzz for his season long stint on FX's "The Shield," playing the nemesis of Michael Chiklis' character. The actor next appears as Idi Amin in "The Last King of Scotland" and Jieho Lee's ensemble drama "The Air I Breathe".
