Trade Breaks: Time, Ski, Tomorrow

"Spike Lee ("Inside Man", "Do the Right Thing") has made a deal to rewrite "Selling Time", a supernatural thriller for 20th Century Fox, with an eye toward directing it. Story concerns a man who sells chunks of his life in an attempt to relive and change the worst day of his life. Pictures and scribe Jamie Linden have pacted to tell the saga of downhill ski racer Bill Johnson, the 1984 Olympic gold medalist who lost his memory in a devastating crash during a comeback bid. "Fingerprint Films has acquired rights for a Korean-language remake of John Woo's breakout actioner "A Better Tomorrow". Deal was signed with Hong Kong's Fortune Star Entertainment, a division of News Corp.'s Star TV group. Fingerprint is recruiting scripters and a director ahead of a shoot skedded for 2007.
