Ice Cube has been busy out on the "Torque" promo rounds and talked with Coming Soon about landing the title role in the upcoming sequel to Vin Diesel actioneer "xXx":
"We're still working on the script, but we're going to tailor make it for me. We don't want to copy what Vin did or try to do a movie that's the same thing but rejuvenated. Vin's character came from an X-Games Extreme Sports type of world. I think my character has to come from a totally different world. I'll be a new XXX agent brought in to work for the government. We're going to think of a new story, and we have Lee Tamahori working on the script. The first thing I said to him was that I do not want to make a big blockbuster movie. I want to make a movie that is good and we'll leave that blockbuster talk to everybody else."
Meanwhile Producer Douglas Wick recently talked with about why the film version of the classic sitcom "Bewitched", tipped to star Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman, is taking so god damn long to make:
"We worked for a really long time or I should say, we failed for a really long time on this one trying to get a version that had new life. Why make it unless you have a real idea? And Nora Ephron came up with a fantastic way to make it work. Turned it on its ear, but got the best part of the story. So, there'll be lots of magic, but it won't be swamped by magic. She's got a great character-comedy premise. The guy who is going to play Darrin - which we haven't quite closed yet - when you get who Darrin is with Nicole, you'll just get the whole movie".
Shooting is slated to finally begin in July.
