New Line Cinema has picked up domestic rights to writer-director Michel Gondry's new comedy "Be Kind Rewind" which Jack Black is attached to star in reports the trades.
Gondry ("Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind") also scripted "Rewind," in which Black will play a goofy junkyard worker who becomes magnetized in a failed attempt to sabotage a power plant he believes is melting his brain. The field he gives off erases all the tapes in the local videostore when he visits a pal who works there.
Shooting begins in late September.
