TV Show Cancellations & Renewals

With only hours to go before the networks unveil their Fall TV show line-ups at the upfront presentations, the axe has swung on several major series who won't be getting further chances next season - leaving several with open-ended cliffhangers.

ABC has officially cancelled sci-fi serial "Invasion", budding sitcom "Freddie" and veteran comedy "Hope & Faith". Fates are still undecided for the likes of "According to Jim" and "The George Lopez Show". With the exception of the recently renewed "What About Brian", this means that every show announced at ABC's Fall line-up last year has now officially been canned.

NBC has yanked "Conviction" and "Teachers", whilst the likes of "E-Ring," "Four Kings," "Joey" and "Surface" are looking very unlikely to get renewals.

FOX has renewed freshman comedies "The Loop" and "The War at Home" and given "The O.C." a fourth season.

Over at the CW, the new amalgam of UPN and The WB, the network has given the greenlight to an eleventh season of "7th Heaven", this despite the strong viewer turnout for the "series finale" a few days ago.

You'll be able to get a full breakdown all this week on Dark Horizons on what new shows are hitting and what's coming back. Stay tuned.
