Director Wolfgang Petersen ("Poseidon", "Troy", "The Perfect Storm") told Sci-Fi Wire that his next project could be the much-anticipated film adaptation of Orson Scott Card's beloved sci-fi book "Ender's Game".

"We're getting the script in a few weeks, and if everything goes fine and that script goes in the right direction, it could indeed be my next one" said Petersen who expects to audition at least 1,000 young actors to find the right person to play Card's boy genius, Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, who is in training to defend Earth against an alien invasion in the late 21st century.

As for his long awaited "Batman vs. Superman" project that's on hold for now? "I love the concept very much. It might happen, but it might also happen when I'm 85. Who knows, because they first have to get their Superman [Returns, which opens June 30,] going". Even when he turns 85, Petersen added he would absolutely love to do the film anyhow.
