Branch Rickey Biopic: "Robert Redford will play Brooklyn Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey in a feature that chronicles the breaking of baseball's color barrier. How to Be Good: "Columbia has optioned the movie rights to Brit writer Nick Hornby's bestseller "How to Be Good," for Laura Ziskin to produce. Ultimate purchase price if the movie is made reportedly exceeds the $3 million Hornby was paid for the film rights to his previous novel, "About a Boy". The film is a complex moral comedy about a couple on the brink of divorce and the cheating wife misses the cynical side of her reformed husband..." (more info). Josiah's Canon: "Sean Connery has come aboard to star in "Josiah's Canon" for 20th Century Fox. Brett Ratner is in negotiations to helm the film being produced by Adam Fields. Man and Wife: "Lions Gate Films has purchased the feature rights to Andrew Klavan's novel "Man and Wife," with James Foley set to direct.
