Assorted news from the television world today of casting changes, possible renewals, end of season details, and assorted other media.

The big one is that a month after stalled contract renewal talks led the voice cast of "The Simpsons" to strike, a deal has been settled which will allow both the cast and actors to get a good deal more than their previous salaries according to The Associated Press. Despite speculation the dispute would shorten the 2004-05 season, the studio said it was optimistic that all 22 planned episodes could be finished.

Paramount has released a synopsis for the finale of "Enterprise" airing May 26th which will wrap up the season long Xindi/Delphic Expanse storyline - "With Earth in sight, Archer, Hoshi, Reed and a small team race to intercept the charging superweapon, sneak past the Xindi Reptilian onboard and disarm it from within, but while the gambit could save humanity, it may cost Archer his life. Back in the Delphic Expanse, T’Pol and Enterprise attempt to obliterate a key Sphere in the region before the furious Sphere Builders tear the ship apart and the region’s degenerative effects kill the crew".

ABC has posted their synopsis for the season finale of "Alias" set to air May 23rd - oddly enough the episode will air three weeks after the second last episode "Legacy" which goes to air this Sunday night - "In the climatic third-season finale episode 'Resurrection', Lauren stages a stunning betrayal to steal classified materials from the CIA. Meanwhile, Vaughn comes face to face with his darkest demons in pursuit of his wife; Nadia must decide whether or not she can trust her father, Sloane, in the pursuit of Rambaldi's most priceless artifact; and Sydney receives a shattering revelation that will make her question everything - and everyone - she thought she could trust"

The Futon Critic reports that the future of syndicated dramas "Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda" and "Mutant X" may be decided by the legal system, according to documents released by both series' U.S. distributor, Tribune Entertainment. Production on both shows was halted indefinitely earlier this week due to the production company behind them both closing, but they had cleared both shows through the 2004-05 season on more than 140 local stations across the US. Where it stands right now remains unsure.

Inside Film reports that Sydney film composer Guy Gross ("Priscilla") will direct the Sydney Symphony in their first ever film score when they record his music for the finale of the sci-fi television phenomenon "Farscape". This "The Peacekeeper Wars" mini-series due to air fourth quarter in the US, still hasn't set an Aussie airdate. Scoring gets underway at Fox Studios, Sydney this Friday.

Finally, the first cast photo of The WB's new mini-series re-imagining of the classic sci-fi series "Lost in Space" has gone up at Toys Lost in Space & Time:
