"Wolf Creek" star Cassandra McGrath has snagged a lead role in the film "When She Gets There", from director Richard Gray reports Moviehole.
The film, from "Project Greenlight" runner-up Gray, tells a young woman, Heidi, who embarks on an adventurous journey of self-discovery after the death of her estranged father. While precariously hitchhiking to her father's hometown, Heidi meets 40-year old Michael, an orange grove owner with a humility not easily faked.
When Heidi's family reunion doesn't go according to plan, she decides to join Michael back to his grove, where the new season of orange picking is about to begin. There she finds new friends in the travelling fruit pickers -- an unlikely bunch of free-spirited characters. Her friendship with Michael develops and the stakes rise considerably as Heidi soon realises she is not the only one dealing with great loss.
Vince Colossimo ("Lantana") is rumoured to be joining McGrath in the project. Village Roadshow and Arclight films will distribute the film, which starts shooting at the end of July in Mildura, Australia.
