Trade Breaks: Flyboys, Shooter, Religious

"Dean Devlin's Electric Entertainment has landed a non-exclusive multipic distribution deal at MGM, with the inaugural pic under the pact will be the $60 million WWI adventure film "Flyboys". James Franco, Martin Henderson and Jean Reno star in the Tony Bill-directed drama about a group of privileged young Americans who volunteered to become the first fighter pilots in WWI. Devlin said the film more than 800 digital effects shots and is aiming for release this Fall..." (full details)

"Kate Mara ("Brokeback Mountain", TV's "24") will star alongside Mark Wahlberg in "The Shooter," the Antoine Fuqua-directed drama that will lens this summer for Paramount Pictures. She'll play the love interest of Wahlberg, a master sniper who is lured out of a reclusive existence to prevent an assassination. "Scribe Sarah Kernochan ("What Lies Beneath," "9½ Weeks", "Sommersby") will pen an untitled religious-themed drama for producer Dan Halsted ("Garden State", "The Virgin Suicides"). Plot revolves around a young woman who has a mystical experience that pits her against the Catholic Church and her town. This is the first film of former Pizza Hut mogul Gene Bicknell who plans to invest in a slate of faith-based and family-oriented pics..." (full details)
