Larry Reynolds (a good friend to "Rambo IV" executive producer Danny Lerner) did a Q & A with Sly Central and spoke about some of the plans for the movie starring Sylvester Stallone, Kim Dickens, Bruno Campos and more:
Question: Will the role of Colonel Keating be a large role.
Answer: The characters main focus in the film will be to track down a former soldier who committed war crimes and who has been missing for some time. While in this search Keating will find that this prisoner of war is searching for the killer of his brother the same individuals which have stolen Rambo's daughter.
Question: Will the role of the fugitive on the loose take away from Rambo?
Answer: No not at all. After reading the treatment for the film I was extremely impressed. It is a wonderful story that mixes the original First Blood with the later Rambo films extremely well. Think of the fugitive as the young Rambo which was featured in First Blood. He has been wrongfully accused of war crimes that he did not commit and has also lost his family... All I can say is that Matthew Fox from televisions Lost is being considered but so are many other actors at this point.
Question: Any news the release date of the film?
Answer: Defidently not 2006. Although they plan on starting [filming] in June this could be pushed back to July or even August.
