"New Line has bought film rights to Howard Chaykin's graphic novel "Power and Glory" and has set up the project with Benderspink. Chaykin's story centers on a crime fighter who's genetically engineered to be a superhero but fears using his powers and needs to be teamed with a former CIA agent. "Laika Entertainment has optioned the rights to Alan Snow's best-selling British children's novel "Here Be Monsters" for its next animated feature, to be overseen by Henry Selick. The story follows a young boy who tries to save his town from a dastardly takeover plot. "Producer-director Uwe Boll has made a living translating video games into films, so it seems logical that the DVD of his "BloodRayne" will mark the first time a movie and the game it's based on will come packaged together in the same case. The May 23rd release contains both Visual Entertainment's "BloodRayne" and Majesco Entertainment's game "BloodRayne 2" on separate discs.
