Jackman Shoots a Fountain

During his "Van Helsing" promotions, Hugh Jackman confirmed to Sci-Fi Wire on Friday that he will have a major role in Darren Aronofsky's troubled sci-fi drama "The Fountain" which seems to have been revived again after at least a year in solitude.

Jackman says "I play three characters, and it's basically about the search for the Fountain of Youth. It is really an extraordinary [film], I think Darren could become, in the final analysis, another Kubrick. I think he's an amazing director, and he's written a script that is just phenomenal. I'm honored to be a part of it, I really am; I'm very excited about it".

It's expected that Jackman is taking over the part that Brad Pitt was once attached to before he dropped out in favour of "Troy". Cate Blanchett's pregnancy also delayed filming, but now things seem to be progressing. The film was slated to shoot in Australia (where pre-production was happening) and probably still will, the question now really is when.
