Gold Circle Films has acquired sitcom scribe Jeff Lowell's script "How I Met My New Boyfriend's Dead Fiance," which will mark his feature directorial debut. Project is moving forward to begin production this fall. Lowell also penned "John Tucker Must Die" coming out this July..." (full details)

Cinema Libre Studio has acquired North American rights to "The Sons of Buena Vista," Wim Wenders' sequel to 1999's "Buena Vista Social Club". The film, directed by German Kral and produced by Wenders, will be released in the summer in the U.S. In the feature-length docudrama, Pio Leyva, the singer and composer who also appeared in the first film, introduces the next generation of Cuban musical talent.
