"New Line has obtained remake rights to 2004 Japanese hospital horror film "Infection" and set up the project with original producer Takashige Ichise along with Vertigo Entertainment. The studio has hired Channing Gibson ("Walking Tall," "Cradle 2 The Grave") to script. U.S. version will be set in an isolated hospital where the staff -- stymied by mistakes and coverups -- races to battle a deadly infection that turns out to be of supernatural origin..." "Paramount Pictures has set "The Pianist" scribe Ronald Harwood to write a feature about last fall's Dover, Pa., courtroom decision in which a federal judge denied a school board the right to force educators to teach intelligent design instead of evolution. Obst and Harwood say the trial had the level of emotional drama present in the 1925 Scopes Monkey trial, the subject of the 1960 film "Inherit the Wind"..." (full details)
