Walden Media has tapped "Crash" co-writer Bobby Moresco to adapt Mike Lupica's forthcoming baseball novel "Heat" reports Variety.
"Heat" revolves around a 12-year-old Cuban immigrant who's a baseball prodigy living without his parents and with his 17-year-old brother in the shadows of Yankee Stadium. The boy dreams of playing in the Little League World Series until a rival accuses him being older than the league limit.
Moresco and Paul Haggis have been nominated for an Oscar in the original screenplay category for "Crash". Moresco co-produced "Million Dollar Baby" and recently wrote and directed "10th and Wolf" starring Val Kilmer, Giovanni Ribisi and James Marsden.
