Writer Paul Haggis confirmed last night that casting of the female lead role in the forthcoming James Bond film "Casino Royale" has still not been decided, but the producers were "really narrowing it down".

Admittedly the character of Vesper Lynd doesn't appear until near the mid-point of the film which still gives the producers breathing room to find their girl, the most recent names being thrown about include Eva Green ("Kingdom of Heaven") and Olivia Wilde (TV's "The OC").

The production is now into its third week of shooting and a press conference is scheduled for later today in Prague where it's expected supporting cast members will be announced, and Danish thesp Mads Mikkelsen is hotly tipped to play the main villain Le Chiffre.

Amongst the names cast, Swiss actor Carlos Leal is expected to play a croupier in one of the film's key gambling sequences. Acress Olivia Lee ("The Mechanik") is said to be up for a role, and stage actress/martial arts expert Victoria Broom will cameo as a military officer in the Bahamas.
