Trade Breaks: Da Vinci, Cassidy, Potter

"Ron Howard's "The Da Vinci Code" will open the 59th Festival de Cannes on May 17th, two days before the film is released worldwide, the festival's organizers said Saturday. Based on the best-selling thriller by Dan Brown and produced by Brian Grazer and John Calley for Columbia Pictures and Imagine Entertainment, the film, which will be screened out of competition at Cannes, uses the Louvre Museum in Paris as one of its main backdrops... Asked about rumors that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck may be remaking "Butch Cassidy," Robert Redford said he finds that "depressing". The actor says "There is no shortage of good, original ideas, and there's just no point to remakes. Why do they have to mess with things that were perfect the first time around?". Redford is planning to direct and star in "Aloft," a drama about the plight of the North American peregrine falcon, which could reunite Redford with his 'Cassidy' co-star Paul Newman..." "Actor Chris Rankin will reprise his role as Percy Weasley in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix", the fifth Potter movie he confirmed this weekend. The character's part and subplot in "Goblet of Fire" was cut, and it's unknown how much screen time he'll have in the fifth movie, to be released in 2007".
