The BBC reports that HBO series "The Sopranos" last real season (12 episodes) is the one that will start airing in March, this year. The, from January 2007, 8 bonus episodes will air.
Shows creator and producer David Chase confirmed these will definitely be the last episodes, and denied rumors about a feature film - "We haven't talked about it in a long time. ... It's hard to see how it would work. I think what we're going to be doing the next year and a half would have been that movie".
Lead actor James Gandolfini seems relaxed about the conclusion - "I'm too tired to be a tough guy or any of that stuff anymore. We pretty much used all that up in this show". Chase said practically nothing about how the upcoming episodes would unfold, or how the series would end.
