Trade Breaks: Butterfly, Sex, Tortoise

"New Line has cast Erica Durance ("Smallville") and Eric Lively ("The L Word") in its sequel "The Butterfly Effect 2." FilmEngine and Benderspink are producing on "Butterfly Effect 2," which begins production today. Pic, which isn't bringing back characters from the original, also stars Dustin Milligan ("In the Land of Women"). Story will follow a time-traveling character who discovers that changes to past events carry unforeseen consequences in the present. John Leonetti is directing a script by Michael Weiss..." "Avenue Pictures is teaming with Sandbar Pictures to produce and finance Daniel Waters' comedy "Sex and Death 101." Waters, the writer of "Heathers" and "Batman Returns," is also aboard to direct. Dark comedy concerns a man whose life is upended by an email containing the names of every woman he's had sex with and every woman he ever will have sex with. Aardman previously aborted production of the film, which shot for a few months in 2001 before script problems pushed it back into development.
