"Brokeback Mountain" scored best film, director and supporting actress for Michelle Williams at the Broadcast Film Critics' 11th annual Critics Choice Awards this past Monday. Reese Witherspoon took best actress, Philip Seymour Hoffman best actor, Paul Giamatti best supporting actor and "Crash" best script.
AMPAS has released the seven films up for the 'Best Make-Up' and 'Best Sound Editing' awards. For make-up there's "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", "Cinderella Man", "A History of Violence", "The Libertine", "Mrs. Henderson Presents", "The New World", "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith". For sound editing there's The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", "King Kong", "Memoirs of a Geisha", "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith", "Walk the Line", "War of the Worlds". The committee may nominate three of these seven films for Oscar® consideration on January 28th & 24th respectively.

The Visual Effects Society has nominated Walt Disney's "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe," Warner Bros. Pictures' "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," Universal Pictures' "King Kong" and 20th Century Fox's "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith" for outstanding VFX in a motion picture.
