After a few months absence, 'Clifton Sleigh' is back with an update on the new Blake Edwards project on the eve of his famed "Pink Panther" movies getting their big DVD boxset release:
"Blake Edwards' "10 Again" which was nearly lost in the shuffle when Mark Damon's MDP reorganized as Media 8 has found a new home with PacifiCap Entertainment Holdings and is very close to securing major studio backing now that a new leading man, Robert Downey, Jr. is ready to put ink to paper.
Edwards' new take on his 1979 blockbuster "10" had attracted interest from Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, and Antonio Banderas after it was announced by MDP in February
This will be the recent Oscar honoree and living legend's first film since 1993's "The Son of the Pink Panther" starring Roberto Benigni.
Rather than face retirement, the ever-busy Edwards occupied himself with theatrical projects such as the hit Broadway adaptation of his 1982 film "Victor/Victoria" and the off-Broadway production of "Big Rosemary." Edwards, who will be 82 on July 26, has also written Broadway-bound adaptations of the first two Pink Panther comedies as well as a stage play called "Scapegoat" which was to have starred the late John Ritter" .Thanks again to 'CS'.
