LatinoReview talked with comedian Eddie Griffin this weekend whose been out on the promo circuit for his comedy "My Baby's Daddy" and he brought up the subject of his upcoming slate. To put it simply the man has been ultra busy:
Any more stand-up tours in the future? If I can get a break from filming, I will be touring. There ain't nothing like stand-up. I got Deuce Bigelow 2 coming up next. Hopefully, by the end of this year, I got four other films in the can already. We'll be doing this, sitting around the round table, a couple more times this year.
What can you tell us about Deuce Bigelow 2 and are there any plans for a sequel to Undercover Brother? Deuce Bigelow 2, we shooting that over in Amsterdam and Germany. The He-Bitches and Man-Whores and Man-Ginas will be back. I'm talking him over the red light district and seeing how much I can sell him over there. See if I can get some tall, boo Germans to join and sell a little bit too. That's high end over the top comedy.
Did you make up He-Bitch and Man-Whore? The initial He words were in the script and I added to them as we went along. I've got to come up with some new ones. Undercover Brother, we're waiting for John Ridley, who wrote the original, to come up with a new one. As soon as he gets time in his schedule, he's pumping out two novels a year and TV shows. He's booked forever. As soon as we can, most definitely, I'm interested in throwing the Afro back on.
Will the new script be harder edged, like the original script? Yeah, like the Internet series, I'd love to have it with a rougher edge where we could name names.
What can we expect as far as another original project? "Hmm, well, I don't like giving up the most for least, but I'll give you a little tip off cause I like ya. The next one is called (Pauses) In Bidnezz. We follow a young man, from a similar background as me, creative juices get to flowing and he comes up with something that could change the world. It's how he goes about getting a patent, and the patent is stolen, which happens a lot. Then there are different people who want him offed because they want to keep the patent that they stole. It's about the entrepreneurial spirit, In Bidnezz".
