Ellis On The Cellular Network

About.Com spoke with Director David Ellis ("Final Destination 2") the other day, and he went into great detail about both the upcoming kidnap thriller "Cellular" and the horror sequel "Final Destination 3".

In regards to "Cellular", the film just had its first test screening run with a 95-minute length edit. It's expected that a few days of additional shooting (mostly aerial shots) are about to take place, whilst the full film should total at the 90 minute mark. Kim Basinger shot for just over two weeks and should be onscreen for about half the runtime. There's also some detailled talk about how the story and certain scenes like the finale were re-written.

One good thing revealed about the first preview - "The pace of the movie, in the preview, everybody agreed that the pace was perfect. It moves very quickly. You don’t get a chance to take a breath but when you do, you have some really good comedy moments that ease up on the tension". As for "Final Destination 3", he wants to come back to direct it but right now the studio is working with writers to try coming up with a cool storyline which will use the 3D element.

Thanks to 'FT'.
