Jay Wolpert has been hired to adapt "Peter and the Starcatchers," the best-selling novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, which Walt Disney Feature Animation is turning into a tentpole computer-animation feature says The Hollywood Reporter.

The book explores the origins of Peter Pan in a tale set before the J.M. Barrie classic. "Starcatchers" centers on a young orphaned boy, Peter, who becomes a stow-away on a merchant ship in order to avoid a life of servitude.

He gets more than he bargained for when he finds a hidden trunk full of the celestial substance "starstuff," and when the shipment is hijacked, it is up to Peter to save the day.
