Whether it be Mr. Willis talking more "Die Hard", a revenge-seeking Uma changing her dates, or Zorro emerging to slash his way across the States. Studios may not have earned much with sequels this year, but there are still many of them in development:
"Die Hard 4" USA Today talked with Bruce Willis whose currently preparing for the thriller "Hostage" about how plans are progressing for a fourth Die Hard film which would see him return to the John McClane role - "We're working on it. Fox wants to do it. I want to do it. It depends on the script/ After the first Die Hard, I said I wasn't going to do any more Die Hards, and I did two more. So I don't make predictions anymore. If they get the script right and it seems like an interesting story...It's hard today to do. The whole Die Hard trilogy so far has been based on some element of terrorism, and it's difficult in today's world to do stories that fictionally portray terrorism".
"The Mask of Zorro 2" Coming Soon reports that the sequel to the highly successful 1998 action adventure 'The Mask of Zorro' will be retitled "The Return of Zorro'. Director Martin Campbell is currently working hard on at the moment with the screenwriters on pre-production, ready for an April 2004 production start in Mexico. Banderas recently told the press that "The script is fantastic. Way better than the first one. Everyone will be back".
"Kill Bill, Volume II" Variety reports that Quentin Tarantino's action sequel has definitely left its February 20th US release slot and is expected to land on April 16th instead as hinted at by the actors recently in media interviews. It's also still undecided whether "Bill 2" will travel to Cannes, QT and the organisers want it to show there but marketing and other factors may over rule that. With the date delay, Disney has moved their comedy "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" into the Feb 20 slot - talk about counter programming.
