Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is set to star in an untitled gridiron comedy for Disney next Spring reports the trades. No director is yet set.
Scripted by Nicole Millard and Kathryn Price, The Rock stars as a superstar NFL quarterback and committed bachelor whose life changes when an ex-girlfriend dies and her seven-year-old daughter shows up on his doorstep because his name is on the birth certificate.
Johnson in real life was a defensive lineman for the NCAA championship winning Miami Hurricanes team before being hampered by injury. He went on to play pro ball in Canada before becoming a professional wrestler. His next films include the dramas "Southland Tales" & "Gridiron Gang".
