"L.A. Confidential" and "The Black Dahlia" author James Ellroy has signed on to pen a remake of Otto Preminger's classic 1944 film noir "Laura" for Fox 2000.

The original followed a detective who slowly falls in love and becomes obsessed with a well-heeled advertising exec over the course of investigating her murder. Ellroy also penned the scripts for "Street Kings" and "Rampart". [Source: THR]

The Emperor’s Children
Actress turned filmmaker Lake Bell is set to direct "The Emperor’s Children" for Imagine Entertainment. Brian Grazer and Erica Huggins are producing.

Noah Baumbach adapted the script from Claire Messud’s 2006 book about three friends in their early thirties living in NYC in the months leading up to September 11, 2001. [Source: Variety]

I.T.
John Moore ("A Good Day to Die Hard," "Flight of the Phoenix") is set to direct and William Wisher Jr. will pen a rewrite of the thriller "I.T." which aims to begin production this Fall.

Pierce Brosnan plays a successful publisher whose relationship with a young I.T. consultant sours. He soon finds the former friend is using technology to threaten his family, business, and life. [Source: Deadline]

Satanic
Magnet Releasing has acquired worldwide rights to Jeff Hunt's soon to go into production supernatural teen-horror film "Satanic".

The story follows a group of college students on a tour of old Satanic Panic era sites in Los Angeles who believe they have rescued a girl from human sacrifice. [Source: Screen]
