R.I.P. Lord Richard Attenborough

Oscar-winning British actor and film director Richard Attenborough has died at the age of 90. Attenborough passed away at lunchtime on Sunday.

Lord Attenborough had been in a nursing home with his wife for a number of years and had been in a wheelchair since falling down stairs six years ago.

Attenborough's career spanned six decades. Acting wise he's best remembered for the likes of "The Great Escape," "Jurassic Park," "Brighton Rock," "Flight of the Phoenix," "Miracle on 34th Street," "Elizabeth" and "Doctor Dolittle".

As a director his most well-known works included "Gandhi," "Chaplin," "Cry Freedom," "Shadowlands" and "A Chorus Line".

His family, including his equally famous brother David Attenborough, are expected to make a full statement on Monday.
