Jake Gyllenhaal goes gritty in "Nightcrawler," a film about a man who joins the rather unethical world of seedy freelance crime journalism in Los Angeles. After some strange teasers, a more straight forward full trailer has arrived and promises a gritty drama.
It looks like a fun turn from Gyllenhaal, but even more appealing is the glimpses of Rene Russo back in what looks to be a juicy supporting role. Aside from her all too brief cameos in the "Thor" films, Russo has been away from the screen for a decade so it's great to see her back.
Indie filmmaker Gregg Araki returns with "White Bird in a Blizzard," a new drama starring "Divergent" actress Shailene Woodley alongside the likes of Eva Green, Christopher Meloni, Shiloh Fernandez, Gabourey Sidibe, Thomas Jane and Angela Bassett. Woodley plays a teenager who deals with her mother's disappearance while coming into her own, and the first trailer for it is now available:
Finally, a new trailer is out for Jake Paltrow's "Young Ones" which seems nicely prescient considering California's drought at the moment. Michael Shannon, Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and Kodi Smit-McPhee star in the near-future set story in which water is hard to find and one teenager sets out to protect his family and survive.
