Showtime has given twelve-episode, third-season orders to both of its dramas "Ray Donovan" and "Masters of Sex". Production on both is slated to begin early 2015.
The two shows were paired together for their second seasons which they are still in the midst of airing. 'Ray' is averaging five million weekly viewers across platforms, whilst 'Masters' is averaging nearly four million.
Both have been met with solid critical notices, especially 'Masters' which has received five Emmy nominations and won one this past Saturday for Allison Janney's guest starring role.
Showtime president David Nevins says in a statement: "Both Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex are quintessentially Showtime: bold, provocative, premium television with production values at the top of the food chain"
