"The Slamdance 2006 Film Festival will kick off Jan. 19 with the U.S. premiere of writer-director Larry Clark's latest film, "Wassup Rockers," from First Look Studios. Clark will accompany the film, described as a skateboarding odyssey about a group of Latino teens who leave their East Los Angeles neighborhood to explore the wilds of Beverly Hills. "$15 million budget feature "End of the Spear" will be released on up to 1,200 screens January 20th via a distribution agreement with M Power Releasing. The film is based on a historical event involving Ecuador's Waodani tribe, which in 1956 speared five American missionaries to death.
