A Monster Calls
Sigourney Weaver will join Felicity Jones and Liam Neeson in Juan Antonio Bayona's film adaptation of Patrick Ness' award-winning children's fantasy novel "A Monster Calls" at Focus Features, River Road Entertainment, Participant Media and Lionsgate International.
The story follows a young boy who attempts to deal with bullying at the hands of his classmates, and the terminal illness of his mother (Jones), by escaping into a fantastical world through the guidance of a tree monster (Neeson). Weaver will play his grandmother. [Source: Heat Vision]
We Are Your Friends
Wes Bentley ("The Hunger Games") will join Zac Efron in Max Joseph's drama "We Are Your Friends," the story of a troubled aspiring DJ named Cole who finds his place in the world of electronic dance music.
Bentley will play James, a wealthy, binge-drinking DJ who takes Cole under his wing and mentors him to success in the world of EDM. Emily Ratajkowski also stars and filming begins today in the San Fernando Valley. [Source: Deadline]

Sophie Cookson ("Kingsman: The Secret Service") will join Adrien Brody and Thomas Kretschmann in Lee Tamahori's long-gestating 16th century action-adventure "Emperor" for Corsan. Filming begins September 1st in the Czech Republic and Belgium.
