Filming begins next week in Chicago on the sequel to 2012's well-regarded supernatural thriller "Sinister" for Focus Features, Blumhouse Productions and eOne.
Scott Derrickson isn't returning to direct but he and C. Robert Cargill are back to pen the script, as is producer Jason Blum. Ciaran Foy ("Citadel") is taking over the director's chair this time out.
Shannyn Sossamon ("A Knight's Tale") has scored the leading role, and James Ransone reprising his role as a sheriff's deputy who'll no doubt have a larger role this time out. Also joining the cast are real-life twins Robert and Dartanian Sloan as the sons of Sossamon's protective mother character.
Not much is known about the storyline aside from the woman and her kids finding themselves in a rural house and marked for death. The film is currently targeting an August 21st 2015 release.
