It sounds like the upcoming film "Straight Outta Compton," a biopic about famed rappers N.W.A., will be nothing if not authentic.
Last week a drive-by shooting took place right in front of the movie crew setting up outside the Compton Courthouse according to TMZ.
People from the neighbourhood, not actors, reportedly flashed gang signs at a passing car and gunfire erupted. The gunmen were NOT targeting the crew and one nearby civilian was hit, though they survived.
The L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. says the shooting is under investigation and it hasn't been determined if it was gang-related. Filming on the project is expected to continue this week in a rough area of Compton, despite apparent safety concerns.
