Lost in Austen
"Portlandia" co-creator Carrie Brownstein ha been hired to complete the late Nora Ephron's script for the American cinematic remake of the UK mini-series "Lost in Austen" at Columbia Pictures, Neal Street Productions and Good Universe.
The story follows a woman living and working in Brooklyn is transported into the fictional world of Jane Austen's Pride And Prejudice. Sam Mendes, Nathan Kahane and Pippa Harris will produce. [Source: Screen]
Run All Night
Following "Unknown" and "Non-Stop," the latest action-thriller team-up of Liam Neeson and director Jaume Collet-Serra is "Run All Night" which has now been delayed two months from a February 6th to an April 17th 2015 release.
Neeson plays a hitman who squares off with his employer, a ruthless mafia boss (Ed Harris), to ensure the safety of his estranged son (Joel Kinnaman). Common, Vincent D'Onofrio, Boyd Holbrook, Genesis Rodriguez and Nick Nolte also star. [Source: Box-Office Mojo]
Lionsgate and WWE Studios have announced that "Leprechaun: Origins" featuring WWE superstar Dylan 'Hornswoggle' Postl, will score a limited theatrical run on August 22nd.
The release will support the film's promotional efforts during its multi-platform release four days later on Digital HD, Video On Demand and Pay-Per-View. It then heads to Blu-ray and DVD on September 30th. [Source: Lionsgate]
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Warner Brothers crossed the $1 billion domestic box-office in 2014 mark this week, helped along considerably by the performance of "The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug". Ahead of the film's upcoming extended edition disc release in November, the studio has released a clip of one of the Mirkwood scenes cut from the theatrical version.
