The world of music has moved on since Vanilla Ice's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II" song tie-in "Ninja Rap" in the 1990s unified humanity.
Shoulder pads and parachute pants may be out, but the turtles are still kicking with both a new cinematic reboot and a new hip hop tie-in song sung by assorted artists that appear to have brainstormed their professional names during a Scrabble session with a broken keyboard.
With the new song "Shell Shocked" now out, GQ Magazine got in touch with Mr. Ice (aka. Rob Van Winkle) to asked what he thought of the new number. Ice didn't warm to it:
"With respect to all of the artists, the song doesn't really do it for me. It feels a little artificial - what I mean by that is that it sounds like a bunch of executives in the corporate world put it together. It really does not fit the theme of the Ninja Turtles legend. I think you have to understand, and be a true Ninja, to possess the Magic to really pull off the secret sound."
Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Kill the Noise and Madsonik collaborated on the new number.
