After lying dormant for several years, the film adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's satirical novel "Pride And Prejudice And Zombies" is up and stumbling forward again. In fact, it's almost sprinting it would seem with production slated to begin next month and a cast already in place.
Bella Heathcote ("Dark Shadows"), Sam Riley ("Maleficent") and Lily James ("Downton Abbey") are onboard to star and Jack Huston ("Boardwalk Empire") is in talks to join this spin on the 1813 Jane Austen classic "Pride and Prejudice," but reimagined with the walking hordes of the undead fitted into the narrative.
Burr Steers helms the film, from a script by himself and David O. Russell. Cross Creek Pictures has picked up for distribution in the United States. Brian Oliver, Allison Shearmur, Sean McKittrick, Natalie Portman, Annette Savitch, Tyler Thompson and Marc Butan will produce.
The project has gone through numerous incarnations with the likes of David O. Russell, Mike White and Craig Gillespie attached at different points to direct.
