"Bridesmaids" and "The Heat" director Paul Feig has reportedly emerged as the frontrunner to direct the third "Ghostbusters" film which Sony Pictures is prepping to shoot soon.
Feig has reportedly shown interest in taking on the project, but no formal negotiations have taken place and a lot of details have to be worked out for it to happen.
Ivan Reitman was previously attached to helm but departed the project in March. Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg penned the original script which has since been revised.
Feig is currently directing the action comedy "Spy," starring Melissa McCarthy, which is targeting a Memorial Day 2015 release.
