Contract talks for CBS hit "The Big Bang Theory" have officially delayed production on the new season of the sitcom which was to begin today.
Actors Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar have not yet reached a new deal with studio Warner Bros. Television and it's unclear just how long production will be delayed as the impasse remains.
The recent three-season renewal of the show, and its place as TV's No. 1 comedy among total viewers for the past several years, gives the cast considerable leverage.
Parsons, Galecki and Cuoco are reportedly seeking up to $1 million per half-hour, along with a cut of the show's back-end - up from $325,000 per episode. Helberg and Nayyar are also seeking hefty raises.
