Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller showed up at this year's Comic Con to promote "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For," the sequel to their 2005 film based on Miller's acclaimed graphic novel series. Whilst there was nine years between the first two films, Miller says a third one is already in the works.
"Robert and I are already talking about Sin City 3, so you’d better show up to 2" Miller advised the Hall H crowd. He later added "I'll be damned if it takes us nine years for the next one." Robert Rodriguez revealed that "80 percent of the score was written on my phone" which may surprise you.
The filmmakers also screened the opening sequence of "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," the scene in question adapted from the 'Just Another Saturday Night' story. Marv (Mickey Rourke) comes upon a group of young frat boy sadists trying to burn a homeless man alive and dolls out his own kind of justice. There were also scenes involving Nancy (Jessica Alba) stripping and a car chase.
Alba says audiences will be surprised at how much Jessica Alba's Nancy character changes by the end of the movie - "Nancy was so sweet and she was a victim in the first one and in this one people will be pleasantly surprised to see her turn into a warrior."
Mickey Rourke and Josh Brolin never actually acted together, despite the pair sharing numerous scenes in the film. The pair's schedules simply never matched, but thanks to green screen it didn't matter. Brolin though admitted he filmed his scenes after Rourke had done all his.
