It has been ten years since "Blade: Trinity," the last movie to boast Wesley Snipes as the famed vampire comic character and a film now mostly remembered for Ryan Reynolds' insanely ripped torso.
Since then, Snipes has famously spent some time behind bars due to some issues with the IRS. He's finally back on the acting scene though, and "The Expendables 3" in a few weeks is set to herald his return to cinema.
Snipes joined the cast of that latter film at Comic Con this weekend and MTV News was there to ask him if he'd like to slip on the fangs to play Blade once again. The actor seemed enthusiastic about the idea:
"I'd be open to it. I think we've got some stones left unturned and there's some latitude left for us to build on and I'd love to get back in the suit again and do some things I've learned how to do now that I didn't know how to do then.
I think we're better at making that kind of a film now. Some of the things we did in the early parts of the franchise were experimental and now they've become customary in a lot of the Avengers films and other comic book adaptations."
In a separate interview, he also joked about the idea of Blade chasing the Twilight kids around. Unfortunately for Snipes, desire doesn't equal possibility. The franchise was at New Line when the previous films were made. Since then though the rights have reverted to Marvel Studios and thus if it is to make the jump to the big screen again, it will be rebooted.
