Umberto Gonzalez better known as famed online film writer El Mayimbe from Latino Review, is (full disclosure) a delightful guy I've known for years and one I consider a friend.

Today I'm very happy to report that he is set to make his directorial debut on the micro-budget, episodic, digital action-thriller series "Breakneck" for Vetted Media.

Gonzalez penned the script which follows a New York City bodega clerk who must go on the run from a corrupt private militarized company after discovering incriminating information and being framed for murder.

Daniel Alter and Jeff Forsyth will produce. Filming aims to begin before the end of the year. Once complete, all episodes will be released simultaneously on Vetted's YouTube channel while a feature length cut will be made available on SVOD platforms.

Alter and Gonzalez have worked together before with their popular Kings of Con party at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday night one of the hottest tickets of the convention.
