Months ago came rumors that former "Lost" star Evangeline Lilly was in talks to play the female lead in Marvel's "Ant-Man," something that various trade publications have reportedly since confirmed but neither she or Marvel have yet to. Asked by SlashFilm if she could confirm being cast, she says: "No, I can't. I don't know anything about those rumors."
Then asked if she would make a surprise appearance at Comic-Con this week for any other film aside from the panel for "The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies" for which she's already been announced, she said: "I'm an actress, but I'm not stupid. I can't answer that question."
The denial only fuels the rumors that Marvel will introduce the entire "Ant-Man" cast during their Hall H panel at Comic-Con this coming weekend. One person who isn't playing coy though is "House of Cards" and "The Strain" actor Corey Stoll who confirmed to Collider this week that the film's former director Edgar Wright cast him in the project. When asked if he's still onboard now that Peyton Reed is directing, he says: "Yeah, absolutely."
